Google has announced that as of January 30th 2013 is shutting down services relating to exchange. Chalk this up as rumour but it does present an interesting scenario. Apple and Samsung don`t get along, period. Apple is slowly but surely moving away from Samsung for fabricating parts (such as the "A" line of mobile CPUs) and is already in negotiation with Taiwanese firm TSMC to fabricate processors. But could there be a yet another deal in the works? Possibly with GlobalFoundries? After all, AMD has just cut orders and having Apple as a client would be a nice feather in their cap.

Today Google officially unveiled it`s new Nexus 4 smartphone alongside a new Nexus 10 tablet.

Hey Microsoft is celebrating the release of their Surface tablet, but not everyone`s happy about it.

There`s no denying it, Windows 8 is different, big departure from XP, Vista and Windows 7, actually it`s pretty different from any PC interface that's out there. Is that good? Is that bad?, well that`s up to you to decide.

The Register is reporting that Samsung is being investigated for misusing SEP (standards essential patents) in a couple of regions.

Engadget has a video review of the new Surface RT tablet from Microsoft. Buyers should be aware that this is the ARM version of the Surface running the ARM version of Windows 8. Your x86 applications will not work on this at all. Besides that I hope developers embrace it and release some great applications for this platform.

Looks like we finally know the pricing details for the Microsoft Surface RT tablets. The 32GB Surface RT tablet will start at $499 without a Touch Cover keyboard and $599 with the Touch Cover keyboard included.

Informationweek is reporting that the new iPad mini will not have a retina display. The report goes on by stating the iPad Mini's screen will use the same liquid crystal display technology that the larger iPad does, but it won't have a resolution high enough to merit the "Retina" descriptor.

Ukrainianiphone has some alleged shots of the back casing of the upcoming iPad mini, in the photos you can see the back of unit matches with the iPhone 5` anodized aluminum and there`s a tray for the nano sim. Just like the iPhone 5 the iPad mini will also sport Apple`s new lightning connector.

The BBC is reporting that AMD in conjunction with software maker Bluestacks is bringing Android apps to certain Windows 8 devices.

Squaretrade has a nice video showdown where they test the durability of both the iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy SIII. A number of simple tests were performed simulating typical accidents a smartphone may encounter, including drops, submersion in water and some other mishaps.

Some interesting results indeed!

Although nothing is confirmed CNNMoney is reporting an unnamed source is calling for Apple to send out invites on October 10th, to another event which most likely will be to unveil the iPad mini. This event should take place October 17th.

If true, the iPad mini is imminent, also hoping for an Apple TV update (bring apps to the Apple TV already!).

HP has finally opened up webOS as an open source project.

Hothardware has got a nice quick and dirty video showdown of the AMD Trinity A-10 5800K Piledriver based APU with baked in Radeon HD 7660 graphics vs Intel`s Core i3 Ivy Bridge based CPU with HD 2500 graphics on die, some interesting results.

Here`s some interesting news from TechRepublic:

They are reporting that CIOs are saying that Apple’s iPhone is now matching RIM’s BlackBerry devices in regards to enterprise security.

With 8 days to go until Apple`s iPhone 5 is released lineups have already started at Apple`s flagship store in NYC. Each of the people in line Sunday were there on business promoting their companies or even their band.

Techcrunch is reporting that iPhone 5 pre orders which went live at midnight sold out in just 60 minutes.

Nintendo will be launching the Wii U November 18th for $299 for the base system.

EEtimes is reporting that the new processor in Apple`s iPhone 5 is indeed a Cortex A15 based processor. Fabricated by Samsung this new processor is 22% smaller than the A5 and boasts 2X the processing power and 2X more powerful GPU.

It`s official, IOS6 will be available for download on September 19. This is good news if you`re an iPhone 3GS owner, IOS 6 will still support your device. Not all of the new features of IOS 6 will make over to the 3GS, but not bad having support and updates on a 3+ year old phone.

Bigger screens for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPod Nano seems to be the theme of this Apple event.

Chalk this one up as probable but the new iPod touch will feature a display with a resolution of 1136 x 640 pixels and the same 32-nanometer A5 processor found in both the second generation iPad and the Apple TV.

The good old iPod Touch hasn`t seen an update in a year and this would be a welcome upgrade. I`d also like to see an upgraded camera and flash a la iPhone. We`ll al know tomorrow.

Digitimes is reporting that VIA has unveiled a new Pico ITX motherboard coupled with it`s own E series quad core processor.
