Hasn`t even been a day since the unveil of the new BlackBerry 10 and now you`re getting iPhone and Android smartphone users already making the inevitable usability comparisons or complaints. Some are reporting a confusing setup process while others seems just plain old lost, Anyhow this video is good for some laughs.

Dodging iPhone questions, RIM style



When asked "what have you learned from Apple" RIM`s European managing director Stephen Bates really did not have anything to say on that subject, at all! The question gets repeated numerous times and it`s as if it was never heard. The comparisons are inevitable so might as well answer them, silence makes you look bad.

AMD Richland Gesture Control and Face Login



AMD will be bundling what it calls it`s "Elite Software Experience" with the Richland APU due out Q2 2013. This bundle includes software for gesture control, facial recognition, wireless connectivity and streaming video. Looks like pretty cool stuff but I`m waiting for a hands-on.

Apple announces 128GB iPad

Apple today announced a new storage option for the iPad 4, a 128GB version will be out February 5th. Prices are as follows: $799 for the 128GB wi-fi version and $929 for the 128GB with wi-fi + cellular.

Gravity controlled NOT PAC-MAN now out for IOS and Android... kinda



This is Not Pac-Man, its the Pac-Man video game from yesteryear you know and love but with a twist, as opposed to controlling Pac-Man with a joystick you tilt your device to make the little yellow guy go where you want him to go. Unfortunately not available from the Google Marketplace or App store but if you contact the developer he`ll send you a download link.

Want objects to jump of the screen of your iPhone (or any device for that matter) just a couple of prisms and you can create an illusion used for centuries called Pepper`s ghost. But this trick called "luminogeist" created by Japanese designer Yuri Endo uses four prisms to get the effect.

Apple TV 3 jailbreak imminent

Apple TV will be getting an untethered jailbreak very soon. Developers at ATV3 Chip Group have an exact date for you and it`s February 1st 2013. The software will be free and will obviously add extra functionality to the Apple TV.

Intel will not make desktop motherboards anymore

Intel has just announced that it`s getting out of the desktop motherboard business. Over the next 3 years Intel will slowly wind down production of motherboards, but they will still supply companys such as ASUS, Gigabyte and others chipsets.

Atari files for Bankruptcy

The once great home and arcade gaming powerhouse Atari has filed for bankruptcy protection in the US. By filing for bankruptcy Atari will be protected from Infogrames, Atari`s current French owner to which they owe a substantial amount of money.

Samsung mocks RIM in new commercial



We know Samsung goes to great lengths to mock Apple, but RIM? In this latest ad Samsung mocks RIM and at one point an actor asks "are you finally going to retire that thing?" Sounds like Samsung is bit worried about the upcoming BlackBerry Z10 launch if you ask me.

This is one very cool mod. This project started out as a broken R2-D2 toy and was not only repaired but modded with a Raspbery Pi running Pasbian to make it autonomous making it almost as cool as the onscreen Star Wars movie version.

As some of you may know the FX series ships in a fancy tin box, but did you know the tin insert is made out of recycled tin boxes? Raspberry Pi sells over a million units

The darling of low cost DIY micro computers has moved over a million units. No small feat considering there are only 2 official distributers. Despite the low specs (and low cost) they`re turning out to be pretty hackable little things, nice project.

Ubuntu mobile demo at CES



I like Ubuntu, I`ve used it on and off (but prefer Mint). So when hearing that Mark Shuttleworth of Canonical will be there demoing Ubuntu mobile I was intrigued. It looks fast and sleek and for those familiar with current Ubuntu builds has a Unity like bar at the side (love it or hate it). So far this has been a hands off demo and Canonical has no dedicated hardware vendors picking up this OS until 2014. Still nice to see an alternative.

This is the Huawei Ascend Mate and it is a monster phone. Coming in with 6.1" screen and a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor the Ascend Mate also packs an 8 megapixel camera and runs on Android Jelly Bean. Why do you we need these behemoth phones, are they still technically phones?

Nvidia Project Shield, hand held android game console



Nvidia made a big announcement today at CES. They will be building their own game console backed by Android. Project Shield as it is named comes with Tegra 4 SOC, full controller, HDMI, micro USB and microSD, 5 inch touch screen at 720p, 10 hour battery life and the ability to output to a 4k display.

pretty interesting development considering Nvidia use to make hardware for everyone else

Microsoft campus gets burgled only iPads taken

Too funny, Microsoft had one of it`s campuses broken into in Mountain view California late last year. The thief or thieves broke into 3 offices in Building 5 between December 19th and the 26th and despite the fact there was tons of stuff (probably Surfaces) only iPads were taken.

On Google+ Android engineer Dan Morril shared some very renderings of the original Android mascot. Dubbed "Dandroids" can you believe these things were on Google`s short list? This one looks like he`s drunk for sure, so do the rest.

Apple and Intel rumoured to be working on iWatch

Rumour has it that Apple and Intel are collaborating to produce a smart watch in 2013. There are already a number of these things on the market, being over glorified bluetooth notification centers for smartphones powered by Android.

New Ultra thin magnetic iPhone 5 keyboard and game controller



This is the EX Hybrid Controller System for your iPhone 5 and it is ingenious. Not only is it a magnetically attached Bluetooth 3.0 keyboard, if you flip it over you get a game pad too. The unit is made from aluminium, boasts 40 hours of usage, is water and dust proof and takes only an hour to charge with a pretty decent standby time of 160 hours.

AMD "Richland" to debut mid year

AMD will be replacing its current generation of A-series processors or APUs by the middle of 2013. The new processor core based on the Piledriver architecture will be called "Richland".

Next generation iPhone and IOS 7 found in web logs

Apple developer logs have found something interesting, namely references to a new iPhone and IOS 7. Unnamed sources have stated that these web log entries started showing up lately as "iPhone 6,1 and another entry "IOS 7". Obviously not much is known about this device or OS because you know, Apple really don`t talk much about unreleased products.

Apple moves chip production from Samsung to TSMC

Looks like the war between Apple and Samsung is getting personal. Apple has contracted Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company or TSMC for short to fabricate its A6X mobile processor found in the iPhone 5 and current iPad.
