Bioware`s Star Wars: The Old Republic has officially gone to a free to play model.
EA today announced that SW:TOR would be going completely free-to-play up to level 50.
The game will still include a subscription model for all those who are interested. BioWare and EA will be offering perks to subscription members, who will gain monthly allotments of the game's new virtual currency Cartel Coins, to spend on in-game items. Free-to-play members will have certain content locked out that can be opened up when they decide to purchase them with Cartel Coins. But in order to get all game content, a paid subscription is a must.
Starting in August Star Wars: The Old Republic will go on sale for $14.99, with a month's worth of complimentary subscription.
Told you it would happen.
